What started as an art project in the winter of 2009 soon turned into a full blown business after an almost immediately positive response from the Apple tech community. Excited by this response, MacSlaps designer & creator, David Hollinger was on a mission to supply the hippest MacBook stickers found on the web. The mission was clear, MacSlaps Decals would be a unique solution for adding artsy and removable artwork to your Apple devices.
After moving to the sunny shores of San Diego, David joined forces with Peter Molchanov, a talented and like-minded software engineer. As avid surfers, Peter and David worked hard to hash their future business plans. These meetings commonly took place during 'board meetings' at local surf spots… With the intention of expanding their online presence and professionalism, the goal being simple: Create, produce, and distribute Apple device decals to the masses.
Dave Hollinger - Founder
As MacSlaps Founder, Dave is responsible for MacSlaps day-to-day operations, as well as leading the company’s product development. He first started MacSlaps in 2009 as a school project while attending the Art Institute of Philadelphia. He ran the business by himself from 2009 to mid 2011.
Prior to founding MacSlaps, Dave worked as a designer in the large image formatting industry. Through this experience, Dave gained the know-how to skillfully produce and ship stickers. Once he realized the opportunity of MacSlaps he worked tirelessly to announce a limited MacBook Decal catalog - The positive feedback was almost immediate and MacSlaps Decals was born!
Dave earned his bachelor's degree with honors in Graphic Design from the Art Institute.
Peter Molchanov - Partner
Peter joined forces with Dave Hollinger in 2011 and spearheaded the expansion of MacSlaps online presence. He oversees all technical aspects of the business, and shares responsiblity for the day-to-day operations.
Before joining MacSlaps, Peter spent the better part of the last ten years working as a software engineer on various software development projects spanning the gamut from missile defense systems to adware.
Peter earned his bachelor's degree with honors in Computer Science from San Diego State University.
